Active Listening

TermDefinition
Active Listening A way of listening and responding to another person that improves mutual understanding.
Reflective Listening A communication strategy involving two steps seeking to understand a speaker's idea, then offering the idea back to the speaker.
Inattentive Not paying attention to something.
Acceptance The action of consenting to receive or undertake something offered.
Empathy The ability to understand and share the feelings of another.
Intensity The quality of being intense.
Verbal Skills Refer to the extent to which a person can approach words, sentences, written texts verbs, adjectives, etc.
Non-verbal Skills Speed, tone, pitch gestures, facial expressions, body posture, stand, and eye contact.
