What are some benefits of using a forum? Cultivate social bonds and interest groups for a topic
What are some uses of a forum? as a whole class discussion, as brainstorming for a project, group communication, week long discussion and summary of ideas at the end of the week, have students generate ideas on a topic or on a reading that you will address in class, peer editing tool
How does one start a forum in moodle? In the assignment area select add an activity, then select forum.
What is a thread? a separate stream of execution that takes place simultaneously with and independently of everything else
What is a forum hot-seat? a knowledgeable group/user to keep the discussion flowing.
Can a video be used in a forum? Yes
Who can respond to discussion board forums? teachers, students, groups of students etc depending on how you set it up.
