| Active Cell | the cell in the worksheet in which you can type data |
| Cell | the intersection of a column and a row in a table or worksheet |
| Cell Reference | a unique identifier for a cell which is formed by combining the cell's column letter and row number |
| Columns | a verticle stack of cells in a table or worksheet |
| Formula Bar | the box to the right of the name box that display formulas when the cell of a work sheet contains a calculated a value |
| Formula | an equation that calculates a new value from values currently in a work sheet |
| Functions | a short hand way to write an equation that preforms a calculation |
