Austenitic this metal is also known as 300 series stainless steel
Serrations Parallel grooves in the jaws of surgical instruments
ratchets the part of a surgical instrument that locks its handles in place
box lock point where the two jaws or blades of an instrument connecting pivot
dissection the process of cutting apart or separating tissue
Endoscope An instrument used to examine the interior of a hollow organ or body cavity
light emitting diode Semiconductor diode that emits light when voltage is applied
Loaner instrumentation Instruments or sets that are borrowed for a case and will be returned to the vendor after use
Passivation a chemical process applied during the instrument manufacturing process that provides a corrosion-resistant finish by forming a thin transparent oxide film
