Technological Methodologies

flipped classroom It is a pedagogical model in which a lecture and homework are reversed. Students acquire knowledge BEFORE going to class.
virtual trips The idea is leaning through the internet going to other places. You can take students to places you cannot go without technology. Students are exposed to different places and cultures. You can use material online. You can work vocab
simulations It is an instructional scenario. It represent reality which students interact. It takes numerous forms: games, rol-plays, activities that act as a metaphor. Students learn by doing.
social networking ​It focuses on bringing people together to interact with others through chat rooms, etc. It is any online use of technology, it allows to send e-mails, posts, comments, etc.
connectivism It is called a digital age theory where students relate the content to their context. It is the ability to form connections, take opinions and resources and apply it to what they know. The information has to be accurate and current.
reality pedagogy It focuses on understanding students reality and teachers gaining their trust. The idea is to use this information as the starting point for instructio
video conferences It is the transmission of audio and video in real time. It allows users in different locations to hold face-to-face meetings without having to move to a single location. It is a very useful communication tool in today's constantly developing world.
authentic learning It focuses on real world complex problems and their solutions using role play exercises, problem based activities and participation in virtual communities. ​
project vs. project based learning It is a dynamic classroom approach in which students actively explore real-world problems and challenges and acquire a deeper knowledge. It encourage Ss initiative, sel directiveness, inventiveness and Independence.
discovery learning It is a method that encourages Ss to ask questions and formulate their own tentative answers, and to deduce general principles from practical examples or experiences. It requires that Ss participate in making many of the decisions .
