internet global network of billions of computers and devices. You can access info. and communicate with others around the world.
world wide web a collections of different websites you can get to by using the internet. Made up of related texts, images, and resources.
html Hypertext Markup Language, a standardized system for tagging text files to achieve font, color, graphic, and hyperlink effects on World Wide Web pages.
url the address of a World Wide Web page. "type a URL into a browser's address bar" synonyms
search engine google is a search engine in which you use to look up things online. (Ex. Google, Yahoo, Bing)
instant messaging chat online like dm or im on facebook, twitter, and instagram.
volp an acronym for Voice Over Internet Protocolf you have a reasonable quality Internet connection you can get phone service delivered through your Internet connection instead of from your local phone company.
blogs a regularly updated website or web page, typically one run by an individual or small group, that is written in an informal or conversational style.
streaming media video or audio content sent in compressed form over the Internet and played immediately, rather than being saved to the hard drive.. With streaming media, a user does not have to wait to download a file to play it.
embedded media By Vangie Beal When designing a Web page, an embedded file refers to any type of multimedia file that you might insert, or embed into the Web page. This includes files like graphics and sound files.
isp short for Internet service provider
modem a combined device for modulation and demodulation, for example, between the digital data of a computer and the analog signal of a telephone line.
router a power tool with a shaped cutter, used in carpentry for making grooves for joints, decorative moldings, etc.
network card an electronic device that connects a computer to a computer network, usually a LAN. It is considered a piece of computer hardware. Today, most computers have them.
web browser is a software application for retrieving, presenting and traversing information resources on the World Wide Web.
encryption the process of converting info. Into a code.
address bar a text box in a web browser displaying the address of the web page that is currently being viewed.
link the url address
navigation buttons like back, home, bookmarks and reload are missing
search bar the place where you go to type in whatever you want to search up.
bookmarks used to keep hold of a certain page
tabbed browsing used to search on multiple pages of the web.
