TermDefinition
Bit A bit (short for "binary digit") is the smallest unit of measurement used to quantify computer data.
Byte A byte is a unit of measurement used to measure data.
Kilobyte The kilobyte (abbreviated "K" or "KB") is the smallest unit of measurement greater than a byte.
Megabyte A megabyte is 106 or 1,000,000 bytes.
Gigabyte A gigabyte is 109 or 1,000,000,000 bytes.
Terabyte A terabyte is 1012 or 1,000,000,000,000 bytes.
Petabyte A petabyte is 1015 or 1,000,000,000,000,000 bytes.
BPS Stands for "Bits Per Second."
Bandwidth Bandwidth describes the maximum data transfer rate of a network or Internet connection.
Baud Baud, or baud rate, is used to describe the maximum oscillation rate of an electronic signal.
