market segment | A group of people with enough in common that they will be likely to react in a similar way to a marketing appeal. |
niche market | A small, easy-to-target portion of the market, usually with specific needs or desires. |
psychographics | Another way to classify customers, based on their activities, interests, and opinions rather than on age, race, and so forth. The classification can be used to segment the market based on social class, lifestyle, or personality. |
reason for traveling | The most common way to classify travelers, usually broken into two groups: business and leisure. A third classification, visiting friends and relatives, is often considered leisure. |
target market | A segment of the market identified as a potential source of customers. |
