Digital Citizenship
Terminology that will help with becoming a better digital citizen.
| Term | Definition |

| Citizenship | Being a member of and supporting your community and country. Citizens have certain rights and responsibilities. |
| Disclosure | Making new or formerly secret information known. |
| Flaming | A tirade (verbal attack) conducted by the use of an online medium (e.g. text, email, twitter, Facebook, etc.). |
| Meta-information (or) Metadata | Information about information. For example: the title, location, and subject that gives insight into what a document is about. |
| Digital Community | An online community in which members interact via the internet. |
| Interlational Communication | Relationships developed as a result of the unique communication that can take place using a digital medium. |
| Communication Venue | The place in which an online community chooses to engage (e.g. chat room, email, twitter, face book, discussion board, etc.) |
| Infoshpere | The environment of information contained in cyberspace. |
| Subterranean Cyberculture | A person's online activity or community that is kept secret from certain people they know in real life. |
| Digital Proximity | The choice of using either a private or a public medium for online communication. |
