General Formatting
How "it" looks
| Term | Definition |
|---|---|
| Format | menu option that allows user to create how the data will look when presented or printed |
| Font | Shape and style of text |
| Bold | characters are darker and thicker to add emphasis |
| Italics | characters are thin and slanted |
| Underlined | characters are underlined |
| Text | words on a page |
| Orientation | Printed page will be printed vertical or horizontal |
| Portrait | the default page setting; document is taller than it is wide; printed vertically |
| Landscape | page setting for documents that are wider than tall; printed horizontally |
| Copy | a feature that duplicates data |
| Cut | a feature that removes data and keeps it for immediate pasting |
| Paste | insert the last information that was cut or copied into a new place |
| Word Wrap | a feature that moves to the next line automatically |
| Word Art | text that is formatted as a graphic object |
| Alignment | the horizontal positioning of text - left, right, center, justified |
| Left alignment | text is lined up against the left margin |
| Right alignment | text is lined up against the right margin |
| Center alignment | text is center between the margins |
| Justified alignment | text is fitted against the left and right margins |
| Template | a pattern; a predefined layout of a page, slide, or document that can be customized |
