TermDefinition
BPS Abbreviation of bits per second, the standard measure of data transmission speeds
Browser a software application used to locate, retrieve and display content on the World Wide Web, including Web pages, images, video and other files
GIF graphics interchangeformat, - it is limited to 256 colors, it is more effective for scanned images such as illustrations rather than color photos
Gigabyte One gigabyte is equal to 1,024 megabytes. Gigabyte is often abbreviated as G or GB
Hypertext A special type of database system, invented by Ted Nelson in the 1960s, in which objects (text, pictures, music, programs, and so on) can be creatively linked to each other
JavaScript A scripting language developed by Netscape to enable Web authors to design interactive sites
JPEG Joint Photographic Experts Group, and pronounced jay-peg. JPEG is a lossy compression technique for color images
Data Compression Storing data in a format that requires less space than usual
Tethering Tethering enables your cellular telephone or similar Internet-enabled mobile device to connect other devices such as netbooks, laptops or PDAs to the Internet
