A term that is short for "carbon copy". It is used when an email is intended for one person, but applies to other people as well. Cc
A name that identifies a website. For example, the name microsoft.com is the name of Microsoft's website. domain
"NOT the Good Kind!" A slang term given to unwanted or junk email. spam
A number that identifies a computer. It takes the form of 4 sets of numbers separated by 3 dots. A computer must have an IP address to connect to the Internet. IP address
A system set between the Internet and a privately owned network that keeps out unwanted access to computers. It examines all messages entering and leaving, and blocks users that do not meet security criteria. firewall
a list of commonly asked questions people ask about a subject and the answers to those questions FAQ (frequently asked questions)
a document (single page) on the World Wide Web web page
software required to access the Internet browser
a program that indexes websites search engine
