Vocab List for Language Arts

Irrigation: the supply of water to land or crops to help growth
Roiled: make (water, clouds, air) unclear or muddy
Gales: a very strong wind.
Panhandle: Panhandle:
Migration: movement from one part of something to another.
Perilous: full of danger or risk
Jalopies: beat up, flatbed truck
Surplus: an amount of something left over when requirements have been met; an excess of production or supply over demand; too much of something
Migrant: a worker who moves from place to place to do seasonal work.
Squalor: a state of being extremely dirty and unpleasant, especially as a result of poverty or neglect
