Excel Vocabulary

TermDefinition
Format determines how the labels and values look
Number Format adds dollar signs and two decimals places to the data
Font Size is the physical size of the text
Point is equal to 1/72 of an inch
Font Styles are formats such as bold,italic,and underlining that you can apply to affect the way text and numbers look in a worksheet
Alignment the position of the cells such as left aligned,right aligned,and centered
Column Heading is the box at the top of each column containing a letter
Auto-fit automatically resizes column to accommodate the widest entry in the column
Cell Styles predesigned combinations of formats based on themes that can be applied to selected cells to enhance the look of a worksheet
Conditional Formatting automatically applies different formats to data if the data meets conditions you specify
