TermDefinition
Format The appearence of a cell and its contents, including font, font styles, font color, fill color, borders, and shading
Number format A format applied to values to express numeric concept, such as currency, date, and percentage
Font size The size of the characters, measured in points
point A unit of measure used for font size and row height
font styles Format such as bold, italic, and underlining that can be applied to change the way characters look in a document
alignment The placement of cell contents in relation to a cell's edges
column heading The gray box that appears above each column in a worksheet
AutoFit Feature activated by dragging the fill handle
Cell styles Predesigned combinations of formats based on themes that can be applied to selected cells to enhance the look of a worksheet
conditional formatting A type of cell formatiing that changes based on the cell's value or the outcome of a formula
