Worksheet The electronic spreadsheet you work in
Workbook Worksheet is contained in a file that's called,
Templates Predesigned formatted files
Name Box Displays the active cell address.
Formula Box Allows you to enter or edit data in the worksheet.
Cell The intersection of a column and a row.
Cell Address Every cell has its own unique location.
Cell Pointer A dark rectangle that outlines the cell you are working in.
Active Cell The cell that you are working in.
Sheet Tabs Below the worksheet grid let you switch from sheet to sheet in a workbook.
Status Bar Located at the bottom of the Excel window.
Mode Indicator The lower-left corner of the status bar provides additional information about certain tasks.
Range A selection of 2 or more cells.
Formula An equation in a worksheet.
Labels Entries that contain text and numerical information not used in calculations.
Values Numbers, Formulas, and functions that can be used in calculations.
Function A built-in formula that includes arguments.
Arguments The information necessary to calculate an answer.
Formula Prefix Formulas in an Excel worksheet start with the equal sign.
Calculations Operators Indicate what type of calculation you want to perform on the cells, ranges, or values.
Comparison Operators Compare values for the purpose of true/false results.
Reference Operators Enable you to use ranges in calculations.
