Properties of Light

Angle of Incidence The angle at which incoming light rays approaches a surface
Angle of Refraction Angle of refracted light ray measured relative to the normal
Area of Illumination The surface area the light beam falls on
Diffusion The light spreading out as it moves away from its source
Illuminate To light up
The Law of Refraction The angle of incidence is equal to the angle of reflection
Lens A clear piece of curved glass or plastic that bends passing light to focus or spread the light rays
Reflection When light strikes an object and bounces off of it
Refraction The bending of a wave as it passes at an angle from one medium to another
