| word processing program | a software program that includes tools for entertaining, editing, and formatting text and graphics. |
| documents | the electronic files you create using Word. |
| insertion point | the blinking vertical line in the document window. |
| screen tip | label that identifies the name of the button or feature |
| title bar | displays the name of the document and the n name off the program. |
| quick access toolba | contains buttons for saving a document and for undoing, redoing, and repeating a change. |
| ribbon | contains the Word tabs. |
| groups | combine multiple objects into one object. The commands are organized in groups. |
| document window | displays the current document. |
| status bar | displays the page number of the current page. |
| AutoCorrect | a feature that automatically detects and corrects typing errors. |
| Auto Complete | a feature that automaticly suggest text to insert. |
| Normal style | default style for paragraphs in Word |
| word wrap | feature that automatically moves the insertion point next to the next line as you type |
| file | an electronic collection of stored data that has a unique name, distinguishing from other files, such as a letter, video, or program. |
| save | to store a file permanently on a disk or to overwrite the copy |
| select | to change the appearance of an item by clicking, double clicking, or dragging across it, to indicate that you want to perform an action on it. |
| formatting marks | special characters that appear on your screen but do not print. |
| toggle button | you can use it to turn formatting marks on and off. |
| template | a formatted document that contains place-holder text, which you replace with your own text. |
