TermDefinition
BPS Abbreviation of bits per second, the standard measure of data transmission speeds.
Browser Short for Web browser, a software application used to locate, retrieve and display content on the World Wide Web.
GIF stands for graphics interchange format, a bit-mapped graphics file format used by the World Wide Web, CompuServe and many BBSs. a lossless format for image files that supports both animated and static images.
Gigabyte 2 to the 30th power (1,073,741,824) bytes. One gigabyte is equal to 1,024 megabytes. Gigabyte is often abbreviated as G or GB.
Hypertext A special type of database system, invented by Ted Nelson in the 1960s, in which objects (text, pictures, music, programs, and so on) can be creatively linked to each other.
JavaScript A scripting language developed by Netscape to enable Webauthors to design interactive sites.
JPEG stands for the Joint Photographic Experts Group standard, a standard for storing and compressing digital images.
Data Compression Storing data in a format that requires less space than usual.
Tethering enables your cellular telephone or similar Internet-enabled mobile device to connect other devices such as netbooks, laptops or PDAs to the Internet.
HDMI Short for High-Definition Multimedia Interface, it is the first industry-supported uncompressed, all-digital audio/video interface.
