Terms and Definitions
| Term | Definition |

| Title Bar | Appears at the top of the program window and displays the name of the presentation |
| Quick Access Toolbar | Appears on the left side of the Title bar and provides one-click access to frequently used commands. It is customizable |
| Ribbon | Extends across the top of the program window, directly below the Title Bar, and consists of a set of task-specific tabs, each of which contains groups of related commands |
| Thumbnails pane | Appears on the left side of the program window pictures of all the slides in the presentation |
| Slide Pane | Appears below the Ribbon and displays the current slide |
| Notes pane | Appears below the Slide pane and displays information about the current slide. |
| Comments Pane | Appears on the right side of the program window and displays comments related to the current slide |
| Status Bar | Appears at the bottom of the program window and displays comments related to the current slide. |
| File Tab | Displays the Backstage view which contains commands related to managing files and customizing the program |
| Home Tab | Contains the most frequently used commands. It is the default tab |
| Insert Tab | Contains commands related to all the items that you can insert into a presentation |
| Design Tab | Contains commands related to changing the appearance of a presentation. |
| Transitions Tab | Contains commands related to applying slide transitions. |
| Animations Tab | Contains commands related to animating slide content |
| Slide Show Tab | Contains commands related to presenting a slide show |
| View Tab | Contains commands related to changing the display of the PowerPoint program. |
| Mini Toolbar | A small contextual toolbar that appears when you perform specific tasks |
| Shortcut Menus | A contextual menu that appears when you right-click an item. |
| Backstage View | Contains all the commands related to managing files and customizing the program. |
| Review Tab | Contains commands related to reviewing a presentation. |
