Retirement Investment Individual Retirement Account (IRA)
The price at which a stock or bond is sold; the price or value of an item in the open market. Market Price
When the amount of market value of a bond is less than the par value. Bond Discount
When the market value of a bond is more than par value. Bond Premium
The value of a mutual fund share found by dividing net assets of the fund by outstanding shares. Net Asset Value
An investment company that buys stocks and bonds of other companies. Mutual fund
Written promise to repay the money loaned on the due date. Bonds
Pays a portion of the income you lose if you cannot work due to a health condition or injury. Disability Insurance
Supplements basic health coverage. Designed to help pay the hospital costs or other health care expenses due to a major illness or injury. Major Medical Insurance
Protects policyholder form financial loss due to illness. Health Insurance
A way of protecting your family from financial hardship when you die. Life Insurance
When the insured and the insurer share losses or costs. Coinsurance
The value of an insurance policy if it is canceled; cash surrender value. Cash Value
Found by dividing the bond's annual interest income by the bond's price. Current Yield
The amount of cash you originally invested plus anything you spend for improvements. Capital Investment
