TermDefinition
electronic mail (email) A means of online communication that involves the transmission and receipt of private electronic messages over a worldwide system of networks and email servers.
store-and-forward system A message delivery system in which messages are stored on a server until they are picked up by the recipient.
email client An application designed for sending, receiving, storing, and organizing email messages.
groupware Software that allows people to share information and collaborate on a project, such as designing a new product or preparing an employee manual. Also called collaboration software.
