Luminous Radiating or reflecting light; shining; bright.
Myopia Lack of foresight or discernment; obtuseness.
Sniveling To weep or cry with sniffling.
Propitiatingly To make favorably inclined; appease; conciliate.
Quavered To shake tremulously; quiver or tremble.
Truculently Fierce; cruel; savagely brutal.
Parried To ward off, as in fencing; avert.
Talisman A stone, ring, or other object, engraved with figures or characters supposed to possess occult powers and worn as an amulet or charm.
Cynically Distrusting or disparaging the motives of others; like or characteristic of a cynic.
Acrid Sharp or biting to the taste or smell; bitterly pungent; irritating to the eyes, nose, etc.
Cordon A cord or braid worn for ornament or as a fastening,
Ululating To howl, as a dog or a wolf; hoot, as an owl.
Elephantine Huge, ponderous, or clumsy.
Crepitation To make a crackling sound; crackle.
Epaulettes An ornamental shoulder piece worn on uniforms, chiefly by military officers.
