| Benefits | Something beneficial to you (some good). |
| Compensation | A reward (usually cash) for your time and work. |
| diversity | different people with different traits, characteristics etc |
| downsizing | A planned reduction in the # of employees needed in a firm in order to reduce cost and make the business more efficient. |
| glass ceiling | An artificial limit placed on minority groups moving into positions of authority and decision making. |
| incentive systems | the amount of compensation connected to the equality or quantity of an employee performance. |
| Job analysis | a specific study of a job to identity in detail the job duties and skill requirements. |
| labor union | An organized group of employees who negotiate with employers about issues such as wages and working conditions. |
| organizational culture | the environment in which people work made up of the atmosphere. |
| Outscorching | removing work from one company and sending it to another company that can complete it at lower cost. |
| Promotion | to advance an employee job status. |
| termination | The end of an employment relationship between a company and an employee |
| transfer | the assignment of an employee to another job in the company with a similar level of responsibility. |
| Salary 'n Wages | direct payment to an employee |
| work environment | the physical conditions and the psychological atmosphere in which employees work |
| work force | all of the people 16 years or older who are employed or who are looking for a job. |
