| Internet | The global communication network that allows almost all computers worldwide to connect and exchange information. |
| Ethics | moral principles that govern a person's or group's behavior |
| Pharming | the fraudulent practice of directing Internet users to a bogus website that mimics the appearance of a legitimate one |
| Phishing | the activity of defrauding an online account holder of financial information by posing as a legitimate company. |
| Virus | a piece of code that is capable of copying itself and typically has a detrimental effect, such as corrupting the system or destroying data. |
| Spyware | software that enables a user to obtain covert information about another's computer activities by transmitting data covertly from their hard drive. |
| Spam | send the same message indiscriminately to the Internet. |
| Mousetrapping | block (a user's) efforts to exit from a website, usually one to which they have been redirected. |
| Clickjacking | the malicious practice of manipulating a website user's activity by concealing hyperlinks beneath legitimate clickable content, thereby causing the user to perform actions of which they are unaware. |

| Browser Hijacking | A browser hijacker (sometimes called hijackware) is a type of malware program that alters your computer's browser settings so that you are redirected to Web sites that you had no intention of visiting. |
