| Ability | The power to do something, either intellectual or physical |
| American With Disabilities Act (ADA) | 1990 federal law forbidding discrimination against the disabled |
| Aptitude | A person's natural ability/potential to learn skills |
| Attitude | The way you think, feel and act |
| Bias | Behavior resulting from a particular tendency or inclination |
| Body Language | Gestures, posture and eye contact used to express yourself |
| Career | Series of occupations and other roles you play in your life |
| Career Cluster | A group of jobs that require similar abilities/skills |
| Career Management Skills | Include identifying your skills, values, interests, connecting to your career, etc. |
| Career Planning | Decision-making process in which you identify alternatives in your occupational, educational, and leisurely life |
| Career Stereotype | Belief that certain careers are only for those that meet certain characteristics |
| Child Labor Laws | Fair Labor Standards Act; limits the hours that youths under 16 can work and lists jobs too hazardous for young workers |
| Conflict Resolution | Actions that include confronting the problem, communicating with the other person, and providing an acceptable solution |
| Consumers | People who buy and use goods and services |
| Demand | Amount of goods consumers want to buy |
| Economics | Study of how people produce, distribute and use goods/services |
| Employability Skills | General skills essential for job success but not liked to the occupation |
| Entrepreneur | Person who organizes and runs a business |
| Equity | Equal distribution of encouragement, privilege, etc. to everyone |
| Federal Pell Grant | Largest pool of federal grant money |
