Term | Definition |

Attribute | A formatting characteristic of a text or a cell. |
Character | A letter, number, punctuation, mark, or symbol. |
select | identify the cell or range of cells in which you want to enter data or apply formatting. |
style | a set of formatting attributes you can apply as a group to a cell or range of cells. |
point | A measurement of the height of characters in a cell or the height of a row. |
conditional formatting | Formatting that is applied based on established criteria. |
Default | A predefined setting. |
Font | A set of text characters designed to appear a certain way. |
Merged cells | Merge cell is a function in database software that allows multiple adjacent cells to be combined into a single larger cell. |
Format Painter | Format Painter is used when you want to copy formatting from one item to another. |
mini toolbar | smaller version of the full toolbar found near the top of the application window. The mini toolbar appears when you highlight text and either move your mouse cursor over the highlighted text or right-click on the highlighted text. |
hyperlink | a link from a hypertext file or document to another location or file, typically activated by clicking on a highlighted word or image on the screen |
