| Term | Definition |

| Font Size | adjusts the height and width of the fonts keyed. |
| Font Enhances/Attributes | Bold-makes lines of text thicker to them stand out more. Italics-makes text slant to the right. Underline-places an underline below the text. |
| Font Type | a collection of letters, punctuation marks, numbers, and special characters. |
| Font Color | color of text |
| Fill Color/Shading | color of background of cell |
| Horizontal Alignment | alignment of information at the Left, Right or Center of the cell of the cell from left to right. |
| Vertical Alignment | alignment of information at the Top, Bottom, or Middle of the cell from top to bottom. |
| Borders | lines around a cell or range of cells at either the top, bottom, left, right or a combination (visible when printed) |
| Indent | moves text slightly from the left to the right side of the cell (used to emphasize subcategories) |
| Number Formats | used to choose how the values (numbers) in a cell are displayed (with $ signs , with commas, with % sign, etc.) |
| Headers or Footers | add identifying information at the top (header) or bottom (footer) of a spreadsheet. |
