QuestionAnswer
Outline A document that lists levels of topics.
Collapse To hide subtopics in an outline.
Expand To show subtopics in an outline.
Promote To move up one level in an outline.
Demote To move down one level in an outline.
Gutter Space added to a leave room for binding.
Soft page break The place where Word automatically starts a new page when the current page is filled with text.
Hard break page A non-printing character that tells Word to start a new page, even it the current page is not filled with text.
Section break A non-printing character that tells Word to start a new section within a document.
Header Text or graphics printed at the top of all pages in a document.
Footer Text or Graphics printed at the bottom of all pages in a document.
Footnote An explanation or references to additional material that prints at the bottom of a page.
EndNote An explanation or reference to additional material that prints at the end of a document.
Bookmark A non-printing character that you insert and name so that you can quickly find a particular location in a document.

Document map A vertical pane that opens on the left side of the document window to show the major headings and sections in a document; click a topic in the pane to go to it.
Comment A hidden note attached to a document for reference.
Comment Mark Color-coded brackets that mark the location of a comment in a document.
Revision Marks Formatting applied to text in a document to identify where insertions, deletions, and formatting changes have been made.
Balloon An area in which comment text or revisions are displayed.
