spreadsheet/worksheet an arrangement of cells in columns and rows to organize
workbook a file which contains one or more spread sheets
cell individual locations on he spreadsheet where a column and row intersect
column a vertical range of cells identified by letters of the alphabet
row a horizontal range of cells identified by letters by numbers .
cell address/reference the column letter and number row .
active cell the cell that is selected and ready to receive information
cell range a group of adjacent cells( a block of cells)
labels text numbers that will not be used in calculations .
values number that will be used in the calculations .
formulas instructions for the software to preform a calculation
functions a shortcut for a formula
