| Term | Definition |

| Certificate | an official document that proves you have successfully completed specific course contest and have the necessary skills for that area for you career |
| Commission | earnings based on how much a worker sells |
| Contract worker | employees of a employment agency who works for other businesses on a temporary basis |
| Deduction | amount of money taken from an employee's gross pay for taxes, insurance, Social Security, and other benefits |
| Education and training requirements | the instructional background and skills needed to qualify for employment |
| Fringe Benefits | extras provided by employers (other than wages) |
| Full time | working at least 40 hours per week |
| Global Economy | worldwide financial management system |
| Job benefits | the extras an employer provides employees in addition to pay such as insurance or paid time off |
| Job duty | a task one is expected to perform on the job |
| Job Qualifications | a special skill, knowledge, or ability that enables a person to perform a particular job |
| License | a permit to do a particular thing or allow an activity to take place |
| Nontraditional Occupation/career | a career in which one gender has 25 percent or less of the total workers |
| Piecemeal | wages to be paid based on a quantity produced or number of repetition performed |
| Salary | fixed amount of money earned, regardless of hours worked |
| Seasonal job | a form of employment linked to specific periods of the year and sectors |
| Self Employed/Entrepreneur | a person who organizes, manages, and assumes the risk of a business |
| Temporary job | jobs that last for a limited period of time |
| Wages | payment for work, usually figured by the hour |
| Work Schedule | a set number of days or hours the employee is expected to work |
| Employment outlook | the prospect for the future of a job or career |
| Entry-level-job | the jobs that beginners start with to train them for higher-level jobs |
| Related occupations | jobs or careers belonging to the same group on the basis of similar Knowledge and skills |
| Volunteering | doing a job without pay to gain experience |
| Working conditions | the environment of the workplace |
