Vo-Tech

TermDefinition
Motherboard The main circuit board of a computer. It connects every device to every other device.
CPU A single all-in-one circuit that controls and manages the execution of programmed instructions.
Storage Device The components of a computer that physically save data.
Server A computer that stores files, runs programs, or performs other tasks for other computers.
Client A computer that assesses information from another computer on a network.
Peripheral Device Any device that attaches to a computer and expands the basic function of a computer.
Personal Computer (PC) A computer designed to be used by one person at a time.
Desktop computer A type of computer intended to be used in a single location. Requires peripheral devices to be fully functional.
Laptop A portable computer with specs that rival those of a desktop
Netbook A very small portable computer that has much lower specs than a desktop or a laptop
