Excel 2013 Window Definitions

TermDefinition
Quick Access Toolbar Commonly used commands at the top left of the application window
Ribbon A group of related tools organized within a set of tabs
Program Window Controls Allow you to move, resize, and close the application window
Sheet Tab Allows you to add and navigate through multiple windows
View Controls adjust zooming in and out of a worksheet, as well as selecting page view options
Tabs Contains related groups of different tools and commands to perform the most common tasks
Group Contains related features and tools organized within a ribbon's tab
Dialog Box Launcher Opens a small window with additional information and options about a particular tool or group
Column Vertical cells that are labeled with letters
Rows Horizontal cells that are labeled with numbers
Active Cell refers to the currently selected cell in a spreadsheet. It can be identified by a bold (typically blue) outline that surrounds the cell
Name Box Displays the name or location of the active cell
Formula Bar Where data and formulas are entered and edited, which then appears in the active cell.
Copy Shortcut CTRL + C
Pasted Shortcut CTRL + V
Cut Shortcut CTRL + X
Undo Shortcut CTRL + Z
Escape Key A key on a computer keyboard that can be used to cancel an operation.
Undo Command Will reverse the last action taken on the computer
Right Click Uused to provide additional functionality to a computer's mouse, usually in the form of a drop-down menu containing additional options
