Selecting Text
Selection | Action |

Keyboard shortcut | set of keystrokes you use to perform a task. |
A single line | Move the mouse pointer to the white area to the left of the line and click. |
A sentence and it's following spaces | Move the I-Beam into the paragraph and tripe-click. |
An entire document | Move the mouse pointer into the white area to the left of the text and triple click, or tap and hold down the CTRL key and click the white area to the left of the text. |
From the insertion point to the top of the document | Tap the CTRL+SHIFT+END keys. |
From the insertion point to the tip of the document | Taps the CTRL+SHIFT+HOME keys. |
A large area of text | Move the insertion point to the beginning of the selection, tap and hold the SHIFT key, and click where the selection ends. |
Nonadjacent characters, words, or phrases | Make the first selection; then tap and hold the CTRL key and click or drag to make the additional selections. |
An complete paragraph | Move the I-Beam into the paragraph and triple-click. |
