Computer Basics Unit 1

Storage Devices Used to keep data when the power to the computer is turned off.
Hard Disk Usually mounted inside the computer's system unit.
Magnetic Storage Recording of data onto disk or tape by magnetizing particles
Jump, Flash or Thumb Drive Small storage device that plugs into USB port.
Digital Audio Tape Method of storing large amounts of data on tape.
Optical Storage Means of recording data as light and dark spots on CD or DVD.
CD-ROM Storage device using laser technology to read data permanently stored on a compact disk.
DVD Digital Video Disks.
