TermDefinition
Browser Application that reads the contents of web pages and displays them on your computer screen.
Hyperlink Any text or graphics on a web page that will take you to a new location when clicked.
Uniform resorce locater A unique web address that directs a browser to a web page.
Domain name The part of the URL that identifies the owner or the subject of a website.
Search engine A website that contains web pages that contains words you tell it to search for.
Boolean operator A word that can make an internet search more specific and effective.
Virus A small computer program that can copy itself repetitively in a computer system and can cause a variety of problems.
Copyright A type of legal protection for works that are created or owned by a person or company.
Fair use Describes when you may use a copyright work without permission.
Plagarism Using other peoples ideas and words without acknowledging that the info came from them.
