Certificate program A sequence, pattern, or group of academic credit courses that focus upon an area of specialized knowledge or information and have specifically defined outcomes

Cooperative education program A structured method of combining classroom-based education with practical work experience
Correspondence course A course of instruction provided by a correspondence school
Continuing professional education Is the means by which people maintain their knowledge and skills related to their professional lives.
Degree Any of a series of steps or stages, as in a process or course of action; a point in any scale
Distance learning Education in which students receive instruction over the Internet, from a video, etc
Education The act or process of imparting or acquiring general knowledge, developing the powers of reasoning and judgment, and generally of preparing oneself or others intellectually for mature life
Graduate school A school, usually a division of a university, offering courses leading to degrees more advanced than the bachelor's degree
Hospitality The friendly reception and treatment of guests or strangers
Hospitality industry A broad category of fields within the service industry that includes lodging, event planning, theme parks, transportation, cruise line, and additional fields within the tourism industry

Occupation A person's usual or principal work or business, especially as a means of earning a living; vocation:
Postsecondary Any type of school or training beyond the high school level
Professional association A body of persons engaged in the same profession, formed usually to control entry into the profession, maintain standards, and represent the profession in discussions with other bodies
Tech prep A nationwide career development system that provides a student with a planned program of study that incorporates academic and career-related courses articulated between the secondary and postsecondary levels
Tourism The business or industry of providing information, accommodations, transportation, and other services to tourists
