Key terms

TermDefinition
Software A Set of instruction, also called a program or application, that tells a computer how to preform tasks.
Operating system Software that controls all the other software programs and allows the computer to preform basic tasks
Hardware All the physical parts of a computer
Digital Information that is represented as idividual pieces of data using numbers 1 and 0, rather than a continuos stream
Hard Drive The built-in storage device inside a computer
Input Info that is entered into a computer
Output Info that a computer produces or processes
External Storage Device A storage device that can eisily be removed from the computer and is usually portable and small
Read Only Memory (ROM) Memory that holds data that can be read by a digital device but can not changed or deleted
E-porfolio A collection of best documents and projects you have created and saved in an electronic format
