| What is edema? | Abnormal retention of fluids in the body resulting in swelling of the eyelids, face, limbs, trunk or entire body. |
| What are the crucial points in diagnosing edema? | Distinguish between yang edema and yin edema. Identify whether edema is of an exterior or interior nature. |
| What is the difference between yang and yin edema? | Yang edema is an acute, exterior, heat and/or excess condition w/shiny, tight, non-pitting skin. Yin edema is a chronic, interior, cold, deficient condition w/looser, dull, pitting skin. |
