Specifically, where is it located? North of Spain, South of Belgium, and West of Italy.
What languages are spoken there? Mostly French, however German dialects, Celtic languages, and other Gallo-Romance languages can be heard as well.
What is the currency used? Euro/€
What are two cultural traditions that are found there? Le Réveillon is a symbolic awakening to the meaning of Christ's birth and is the culinary high point of the season. On Christmas Eve, French children put their shoes in front of the fireplace, in the hopes that Père Noël will fill them with gifts.
What are two common dishes found there? Crepes and macarons.
What is the weather like there? Rainy in northern areas and mostly sunny in southern areas. Overall it is the most temperate European country.
What is one interesting thing you learned about this country that is not answered in the other questions? Paris was originally a Roman city called "Lutetia".
What is one difference between your culture and the culture of the country you studied? On Christmas Eve, French children put their shoes out to be filled with gifts by Santa, as opposed to the stocking tradition of the US.
What is one similarity between your culture and the culture of the country you studied? On Christmas Day, good children receive gifts that Santa delivered the night before, while 'bad' children are punished.
