How has the information in Thing #2 changed your teaching practice? Although I use Google Maps in my daily life often, I never thought about using Google Maps in my classroom much. After completing the assignment and reading everyone's responses, I am excited to incorporate it more often in my daily classroom lessons.
How has the information in Thing #2 changed your teaching practice? I am the technology teacher, so I usually try to find ways to incorporate the teacher’s classroom lessons into what I am teaching. I am already thinking of ways I could have incorporated Google Maps in my Tech class.
What are some ways Google Maps can be incorporated into your curriculum area? I plan to have the students use it to explore the different environments they are learning about.
What are some ways Google Maps can be incorporated into your curriculum area? We can look up the locations of the people they do their projects on, or plot the journeys of characters in books they are reading.
What are some ways Google Maps can be incorporated into your curriculum area? Students can explore maps of the locations they are taking field trips to and locating places on current events. How cool would it have been to pull up maps of Nepal when the earthquake hit and had a discussion about it!
What are some different ways to use online flashcards with students? I made a set with computer terms and have the students review them when they come in and then I quiz them throughout class.
What are some different ways to use online flashcards with students? . I am going to use flashcards at computer centers for small groups to review vocabulary. I am also going to pull them up on the Smartboard and have teams plays against each other as a whole group review.
What are some different ways to use online flashcards with students? Flashcards could be used with the lower elementary students as a warm up each morning to review their sightwords and vocabulary words.
