Describe the Mother-Son relationship, and name each element's relationship in that regard. Mother-son: the mother organ nourishes the son organ. If there is deficiency in the son, there is probably also deficiency in the mother. Liver -> Heart -> Spleen -> Lung -> Kidney -> Liver.
Describe the Controlling/Interacting relationship, and name each element's relationship in that regard. Controlling/Interacting provides feedback on each organ to keep each one in check. Liver -> Spleen -> Kidney -> Heart -> Lung -> Liver.
Describe the Over-controlling/Insulting relationship. Over-control: this occurs in disease when there is excess (and the grandparent organ over suppresses the grandchild organ). Example: Sour foods (boosts Liver) should be avoided in people with Spleen problems since the Liver is already over-controlling.
Describe the Resistance of Control relationship. Resistance of Control: if the original organ is weak in its control over the recipient organ, the recipient organ can push back and harm the original organ. This can lead to disease in the original organ.
