Sheets Unit 2 Vocab

TermDefinition
AVERAGE returns the average (arithmetic means) of its arguments
Bar Chart a chart that uses bars of varying heights to illustrate values in a worksheet
Chart/Graph a graphic representation of values and their relationships: pie, line, column, bar
COUNT returns the number of cells in a range that contains numbers
Line Chart a chart that uses points connected by a line to illustrate values in a worksheet
Formula a general relationship, principle, or rule stated, often as an equation, in the form of symbols
Function a built-in command which can be used to perform common mathematical operations such as addition, multiplication, and rounding numbers
MAX returns the largest value in a set of values
MIN returns the smallest value in a set of values
Pie Chart a chart that shows the relationship of a part to a whole
SUM adds all the numbers in a range of cells
Value numeric characters that can be used in a calculation
Argument a value, cell reference, or a range that is enclosed in parentheses within a function
Text a group of characters - usually words - that are used as data in a spreadsheet program.
Label alphanumeric text that will not be used in calculations. Also called a heading.
