zoom | a slider used to increase or decrease the size of the document on screen |
point | a unit of measurement also used in desktop publishing and graphic design |
modified | the style of block letter where some lines start at the center of the page |
script | a font that looks like handwriting |
cover | a personal business letter that you send with your resume |
superscript | a font function that reduces the size and placement of text or symbols to the top of the other letters |
vertical | the type of alignment where text is positioned in relation to the top and bottom of the document margins |
the layout view that displays onscreen what a printed document will look like | |
body | the main information within a letter or memo |
insertion | the vertical flashing point that indicates where the next action will occur |
help | a button indicated with a question mark where you can click to get further information |
watermark | a pale or semitransparent graphics object or text positioned behind the document text |
overtype | a mode of operation used to type over or replace existing text in a document with new text |
style | a collection of formatting settings, such as headings, titles, and subheadings that can be applied to characters of paragraphs |
header | text printed on the top of every document that the user inputs |
indent | a temporary left margin for lines or paragraphs |
font | a complete set of characters in specific design, style, and size |
full | the style of block letter where all lines are flush to the left of the page |
memo | a business document commonly used for communication within a company |
insert | the default mode where most of your editing will be done to avoid typing over text you need |
leading | the line spacing measured in points that can be adjusted to make text easier to read |
delivery | a recipient's address printed on the outside of an envelope |
inside | the recipient's address typed in the letter above the salutation, the same as the delivery address |
mail merge | is when an identical letter can be individually personalized by pulling addresses from a different data document |
wordwrap | the feature that causes text to automatically move from the end of one line to the beginning of the next line |
template | a completed file containing layout and a keyboard symbol or letter will effect a shortcut action |
shift | the keyboard key that when combined with a keyboard symbol or letter will effect a shortcut action |
horizontal | the ruler that displays information like tabs, margins, and indents |
salutation | the initial greeting line in a letter such as Dear _______ |
paragraph | a non-printing character inserted in a document to indicate users' keyboard strokes |
theme | a set of coordinated fonts, colours, and effects that can be applied to Office 2013 documents |
arrow | the non-printing characters symbol that displays in a document showing the user struck this Tab key |
serif | a font with curved or extended edges |
tab | the measurement of space the insertion point advances when you press this particular key |
