Computer Hardware parts of the computer you can touch.
CPU central processing Unit. processes program instructions.
RAM random access memory. Holds program instructions temporarily, loses all data when power goes out. when ram is low on your computer is low your computer runs slow
Input Devices keyboard, mouse, microphone, scanner
Output Devices Monitor, printer, speakers, projector
Bytes Order byte, kilobyte, megabyte, gigabyte, terabyte
Hertz measures processing speed of the CPU
Multitask being able to use more than one program at once
Operating System Software controls overall functions of computer
Application Software excel, web browsers, word, email, etc.
Word Processing create documents such as reports, letters, research
Spreadsheet performs calculations. budgets, charts, financial planner
Presentations slide shows to help with lectures to a group
Data Base handles large amounts of data such as, student records and patient cards.
