Key Terms

TermDefinition
Database a structured set of data held in a computer, especially one that is accessible in various ways.
Field a particular branch of study or sphere of activity or interest.
Record a thing constituting a piece of evidence about the past, especially an account of an act or occurrence kept in writing or some other permanent form.
Primary Key a relational database that is unique for each record.
Ascending sort increasing in size or importance.
Descending sort move or fall downward.
Query ask a question about something, especially in order to express one's doubts about it or to check its validity or accuracy.
Report an account given of a particular matter, especially in the form of an official document, after thorough investigation or consideration by an appointed person or body
