DataTypes Program

Questions based on data type program done in class

What happens when you don't follow the rules? A compiler error occurs.
Conventions are what? The standards followed by programmers of a particular language.
Main Method- a program begins by calling the main method and begins execution with the first line of code in the main method.
program block- the code enclosed between { } (open and closed curly brace)
Naming Rule #1 alphanumeric (numbers and letters)
Naming Rule #2 no spaces or special characters except underscore and dollar sign
Naming Rule #3 Must begin with a letter
What is a Data Type? Classification that shows how data is stored.
What is assignment? When you assign something to a data type. (=)
What is Data? Information stored in the computer.
How many bits and bytes take to declare an integer variable? (32 bits - 4 bytes)
How many bits and bytes take to declare a real variable? (64 bits - 8 bytes)
The double data type allows what? The storage of rational and irrational numbers.
The boolean data types allows what? Allows the storage of any keyboard character.
Common names for variable types? i, j, n for ints c, d, and e for chars x, y, and z for real numbers
What is a syntax? grammar, structure, or order of the elements in a language statement.
What is a string literal? character(s) enclosed in double quotation marks
What is hard coding? To use an explicit rather than a symbolic
What is camelBack notation? The first letter is lowercase and for each subsequent word the first letter is capitalized.
How many bits does it take to declare boolean? 1 bit
What is the Basic syntax for assignment? variableName = <value>;
What is the Basic syntax for declaration? <data type> variableName <value;
