Information technology (IT) | The application of computers and telecommunications equipment to store, retrieve, transmit and manipulate data,[1] often in the context of a business or other enterprise. |
Internet | Global system of interconnected computer networks that use the standard Internet protocol suite (TCP/IP) to link several billion devices worldwide. |
Hardware | The collection of physical elements that constitutes a computer system. |
Software | Any set of machine-readable instructions that directs a computer's processor to perform specific operations. |
A central processing unit (CPU) | The electronic circuitry within a computer that carries out the instructions of a computer program by performing the basic arithmetic, logical, control and input/output (I/O) operations specified by the instructions. |
Random-access memory (RAM) | Form of computer data storage. A random-access memory device allows data items to be read and written in roughly the same amount of time regardless of the order in which data items are accessed. |
