Define Chest Painful Obstruction Syndrome. Oppression or fullness in the chest with chest pain that can radiate to the back, throat, jaw, teeth and arms with SOB or diffucult respiration preventing ptns from lying flat. Common in coronary arteriosclerotic disease.
What are the four etiologies of Chest Painful Obstruction Syndrome? Frail constitution in old age; improper diet; emotional stress; invasion by external cold

What is the general treatment strategy for Chest Painful Obstruction Syndrome during acute episodes? Concentrate of treating the manifestation, eliminate the patogenic factor, such as expelling cold or resolving phlegm or moving the qi and invigorating blood
What is the general treatment strategy for Chest Painful Obstruction Syndrome during remission? Between attacks, focus on the root, such as tonifying qi, nourishing yin or generating blood.
