PowerPoint Terms

Presentation An application that allows the user to create and save slides to use as a slide show
Transition A feature that can be applied in presentations to control the way slides move on and off the screen
Template Something that serves as a model for others to copy
Theme A palette of colors, fonts, and special effects used on a slide
Slide Layout A template which includes placeholders for text, videos, pictures, charts, shapes, and clip art
Audience People who will listen to a presentation
Notes Window Window that allows the user to key notes about a slide
Outline Tab Displays the number of each slide as well as the text included on each slide
Background The area behind the text and graphics on a slide
Handouts Printouts that include a small images of the slides and an area to take notes
Slide Sorter View A view in PowerPoint that displays a thumbnail of each slide in the order in which they appear in the presentation; used to rearrange slides
